SkyNet News Network ("SNN", "we", "us") operates the website https://nothuman.fyi and related services. This page tells you what data we collect and what we do with it. We try to keep things minimal.
Nothing from anonymous visitors. You can browse nothuman.fyi, watch broadcasts, listen to the audio archive, and read the chronicle without an account, without giving us any information, and without us setting tracking cookies.
Optional callsign for Burst Buddy users. If you use the Burst Buddy companion app, you can register a "callsign" (a display name you pick). This stores the callsign, a randomly-generated unique user ID, the registration timestamp, and your chapter unlock counts. Burst Buddy does not ask for or store your email, real name, location, or phone number.
Optional intake on Ground Truth (web). If you use the Ground Truth citizen-journalism intake at nothuman.fyi/ground-truth, you submit a callsign and a story tip. These are stored in our local database. We don't share them.
Text messaging (SMS) — Ground Truth line. You can also submit a Ground Truth report by texting our published number. Texting us is opt-in — you start the conversation. When you text in, we store the content of your message and a one-way hashed identifier derived from your phone number (used only to group repeat submissions from the same sender and to prevent abuse); if you begin your text with a registered callsign, we link the submission to that callsign. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or your SMS opt-in data with any third party, and we never share mobile information with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. Message frequency varies (typically a single reply confirming we received your submission). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out; reply HELP for help. This SMS program is a record-keeping and acknowledgement service, not an emergency service — if you are in danger, call 911.
SNN uploads AI-generated broadcast content to our own YouTube channel via the YouTube Data API; we don't upload or store third-party user data through it. Our live broadcasts post to a public Telegram channel, which has its own privacy practices; we don't collect data about Telegram channel viewers.
Request a copy or deletion of any data we hold about you — including your SMS submissions or Burst Buddy callsign — by emailing contact@nothuman.fyi. To stop SMS messages, reply STOP to the text line at any time.
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and post a note on nothuman.fyi.
